A Talk with George Walker
We realize it’s short notice, but George Walker—known as “Hardly Visible” amongst the Merry Pranksters—will be appearing at the Beat Museum this Thursday evening.
“I’ve been talking about waves,” says Walker, “Kesey said we didn’t create the energy of the ’60s, rather we sensed it, a huge, building wave of social awareness and rising consciousness. We surfed that wave, serving as an example for a generation of people who were ready. It was a time ripe for change, also fraught with new kinds of peril. Cassady warned us, Kesey inspired us, Leary fueled us, the Dead played the marching music and we danced into a better future.
“I’ve been talking for a few years now about another coming big social wave, a set of waves much like the ’60s, when we will strive for the next evolution of consciousness. That wave has arrived, the time is now, the 2020 vision is upon us.”
You don’t want to miss this unique opportunity to participate in a discussion with a key figure of the ’60s counterculture, as he shares his vision of what the future might hold.
This is a free event.
