American Writers Museum
We presented Kerouac@100: The Man vs The Myth at the American Writers Museum in Chicago last night. The event was a joy, and we were most grateful to be able to tell Jack’s story at a venue where we’ve been an affiliate member since they opened in 2017. Thanks to all who came out in Chicago, particularly Marilyn Rea Beyer, who hosts WFMT’s The Midnight Special, Erin & Kurt Hemmer, Michael Plumpton, and Raven See.
One of the very cool things at the American Writers Museum in Chicago is they provide bookmarks of the writers represented by their affiliates. On the reverse side is a description of the affiliates themselves, complete with photographs. It was a special treat to see the photographs chosen for the Beat Museum, especially the picture of the very popular “Bathtub Literature” on display at the front entrance since the day we opened in North Beach!
PS: It’s hard to look cool posing on the street in front of the American writers Museum in Chicago when your dog is standing between your legs!
