John Cassady In front of the KRON news Van

On Tuesday, September 7th we were in San Francisco to do a morning news show for KRON-TV. We met at the intersection of Market Street and the Embarcadero which is right where thousands of commuters disembark from the ferry boats that come in from all over the Bay Area. The on-air reporter, Liam Mayclem, does a segment called “Liam on the Loose” where he wanders the city looking for interesting stories.

This day we got three full segments for a total of eight minutes on the hour long news program. Liam highlighted the Beat Museum on Wheels, both inside and out, along with the display panels that tell the story of the Beats. John Cassady, Garland Thompson and Jerry Cimino answered questions, showed photographs, told stories and read poetry.

Afterwards we stayed on the promenade for a while as hundreds of commuters streamed by on their way into work to see our displays and photos as a result of the newscast. Below are some photos taken on the scene as well as some taken off the TV during the broadcast.
