One of the primary objectives of The Beat Museum and the Beat Museum on Wheels is to educate, and facilitate study of The Beat Generation and its influence on the American Culture.

We do this by traveling to various venues (colleges, festivals, bookstores, cafes, and various events) with a mobile replica of The Beat Museum, and offer customized presentations to various groups.

The music, imagery and stories conveyed in these programs celebrate life in the spirit of the Beats: - “Know your Truth. Speak your Truth. Live your Truth.”

There is some mention of sexuality and drug use as these were elements of the lives lived. We are always conscious of the ages of our audiences and the appropriateness of the message. And we’re mindful to insure the story of the Beats is seen in all its complexities and from all perspectives.

Too many people, especially young people, see the lives of the Beats as carefree and spontaneous and they want to emulate those lives. They forget, or maybe they don’t know, about the alcohol addictions, the drug addictions, the dysfunctional relationships and the untimely early deaths.

We’re here to present a complete picture which includes many cautionary tales.

And we’re here to celebrate the spirit of the Beats.

Along with the programs that The Beat Museum hosts which are found below. John Allen Cassady, Neal Cassady's son, is also adding his perspective to each of the programs. Click the link below to find out what John will be discussing in each program.
