It’s been an exciting year for the Beat Museum. We’ve accomplished some great things—a full calendar of events featuring poetry, musical performances, films, and appearances from important figures in the literary world. We also organized the largest gathering of Beat personalities in 20 years.
To everyone who’s supported us—our members, everyone who’s ever donated, attended an event, volunteered their time and talent, or offered encouragement—thank you. We couldn’t do any of this without your support.
But we have no intention of slowing down. In 2016, we’re offering even more events, plus we’re working on organizing our next Beat Generation conference.
Here's how you can help:
Help us preserve San Francisco's rich literary history. Become a card-carrying member of the Beat Museum!
In June, the Beat Museum hosted our first-ever Beat Generation Conference—Beatnik Shindig. Featuring over 30 speakers and presenters, workshops, lectures, panel discussions, readings, music and poetry performances, vendors and more, it was a rousing success!
We want to do it again—and even better!
It cost $35,000 to put on the first Beatnik Shindig. We'll need to raise even more to put on the next Beat Conference.

Q: "What if you don't raise enough money for the next Beat Generation Conference?"
A: In the event we're unable to fully fund the next conference, any funds raised during this year-end fundraiser will be used to fund other programming.
