On February 5th, William S. Burroughs would have turned 95. In celebration, the Beat Museum hosted a birthday party for el hombre invisible, featuring Charles Gatewood, Beat photographer and Burroughs collaborator showing his work and recounting anecdotes of his and Burroughs' friendship. On December 13th, legendary tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy made a special appearance at the Beat Museum, accompanying an exhibition of new and classic artwork. Hardy gave a short talk, citing the writings of the Beat Generation as being hugely influential to his development as an artist, and philosophically important to his work in the then-underground art of tattooing.
