Allen Ginsberg Read “HOWL” for the first time—60 Years Ago Today
Most Beat fans know the core group of the Beat writers met in New York City in 1944. But the Beat Generation began to creep into the consciousness of the general public sixty years ago today when Allen Ginsberg read “HOWL” for the first time at The 6 Gallery in San Francisco on October 7, 1955. So, it seemed appropriate to invite you to join our brand new Membership Program for The Beat Museum on this historic date.
